Summary:
Citect crashes when reading variable tags from a CTICMP I/O device. The following error is displayed:

"Citect has performed an illegal operation and will be closed by windows"

The file c:\winnt\drwtsn32.log contains the exception address: 0x02c51213

If Citect is restarted without rebooting the PC, the CTICMP device(s) may be offline.

 

Solution:
This problem was seen on Windows 2000 Service Pack 2. Installing Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 corrected it.
