Summary:
When shutting down Citect in v5.40, it sometimes takes a long time to complete the shutdown process. 

Solution:
Simply define a database device in Citect that points to the ENGLISH.DBF file in the project directory. This will lead to a faster shutdown behavior in v5.40. Define the following (pseudo) device in your Project Editor | System menu | Devices:

Name: Pseudo
File Name: [RUN]:English.dbf
Type: dBase_dev

Citect has confirmed this to be a problem in CitectHMI/SCADA version 5.40. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
