Summary: |
After running the trend system, my system
decided to give the following error:
Archiving Initialisation Error: There is not enough disk space on the drive I could not understand why this has occurred when all I have added was a few additional trend pages. I have a large hard drive with more than sufficient disk space. So I know for certain that I am not out of disk space. What could be causing this? |

The problem may occur when there is a limitation on how many files you can have per folder within Windows. In this instance the trend files that had been created were exceeding a total of 23,054. To overcome this issue, it is advised that in the early stages of project development, you design a file structure for your data files so that it is broken up into their own category in folders rather than just within the Citect\Data folder. This also makes it easier to organize your trend history and back it up at a later stage if the need arises. This error could also be caused if the system disk (running Win2000) is using the FAT or FAT32 format. Converting the system disk to the NTFS format may resolve this error if the above is not a factor. |
