Applies To:
  • CitectSCADA 5.xx
  • CitectHMI 5.xx

Summary:
The PROTDIR.DBF file distributed with CitectSCADA has the wrong parameters for the ELPROTLC driver. This may cause several communication issues to the device.

Solution:
To rectify the problem simply open up EXCEL, then from excel open up the save_dbf.xls file located in the [Citect]\Bin directory. This enables a macro for you to modify the DBF file extensions used by CitectSCADA by creating a right-click menu to save the file in the correct format. Once that is loaded simply open up the PROTDIR.DBF file and make the following changes in the ELPROTLC section. Then save the file.

TAG: ELPROTLC
FILE: ELPROTLC
BIT_BLOCK: 512
MAX_LENGTH: 512
OPTIONS:  0x188F

Citect has confirmed this to be a problem in CitectHMI/SCADA version 5.XX. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
