Summary:
I am getting an error while trying to install CitectSCADA. The error is:

Error_BDE_Locked

I click on OK and it exits out of the installation. What is causing this problem?

 

Solution:
BDE is the Borland Database Engine. This error can be caused by the user logged in the system. Not having write privileges or not having privileges to install applications. The solution here is to either log onto the system as a Power User / Administrator or a user with rights to install and modify system settings. Alternatively contact your IT administrator to install the software for you.

This would be a common pitfall on most Operating Systems with restrictions (such as WinNT or Windows 2000).
