Summary:
When the device driver supports multiple I/O Devices on the same channel and the channel is offline, the I/O Server may return random data to a client from an offline I/O Device. One frequent obvious manifestation of this condition is the appearance of "phantom" alarms. 

Solution:
Citect has confirmed this to be a problem in CitectHMI/SCADA all versions. This problem has been fixed in version 5.42.
