Summary:
When an alarm becomes active it displays on the CitectSCADA Pocket alarm page but the alarm sound does not play.

Or...

When an alarm becomes active the alarm sound plays but it will not stop when the Acknowledge button is pressed.

Solution:
When an alarm occurs the alarm sound should play continuously until an alarm is acknowledged or the sound is interrupted by another system sound.

If no sound plays, it may be that Program sounds are disabled on the Pocket PC. Go to the Start menu | Settings | Personal tab | Sounds & Notifications | Volume tab. Make sure 'Programs' is selected. It does not matter if 'Program Notifications' is selected. Also, make sure the 'System volume' is not set to Silent. Check if sounds play in other applications as well. See Q3891 if the alarm sounds have been customized.

If the sound plays but will not stop, it may be that Event sounds are disabled. CitectSCADA Pocket relies on a system sound to interrupt the alarm sound. When the alarm acknowledge button is pressed a system sound normally plays. Go to the Start menu | Settings | Personal tab | Sounds & Notifications | Volume tab. Make sure 'Events' is selected.
