Summary:
How do I set up Citect 5.50 to run as a shell under Windows 98 Second Edition?

I have set up the shell command in the system.ini file as per other KB's, but on startup I get an error message:

"Unable to load c:\program files\citect\CitectSCADA\bin\Citect32.exe

You must re-install windows".

Solution:
When you install CitectSCADA 5.50, it installs to the directory C:\Program Files\Citect\CitectSCADA\ by default.

The shell command that runs in Windows 98 still uses the old DOS 8.3 filename convention.

Thus you must actually add this shell command to your System.ini:

[boot]
shell=C:\Progra~1\Citect\Citect~1\Bin\Citect32.exe

The shell command will now execute successfully.
