Summary: |
When you first Create a project in Citect
Project Explorer, you need to declare a name:
Name A unique name for the project. The project name is restricted to 64 characters. It can contain any characters other than the semi-colon (;) or the single quote ('). Since the project name is a unique identifier, CitectSCADA does not permit you to create or restore a project with the same name. If you chose to declare a project name which contains a space, i.e. "North Smelter Include". You may experience problems with certain CitectSCADA features. In particular the CreateUserForm() will return an error: "FATAL Error: Project Database not found". How do I work around this and other errors? |
Solution: |
There are some CitectSCADA features, and
functions which were written to only support the 8.3 DOS naming
convention. With the introduction of Windows NT, the naming
convention of files and folders expanded to support special
characters and a longer length.
To overcome this problemPlease ensure that you do not have spaces within your Project name or any other special characters. If you must use a space to separate words within the Project name, then use the underscore character "_". Citect has confirmed this to be a problem in CitectHMI/SCADA version 5.XX to 6.00. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available. |
