Summary:
CitectSCADA occasionally will crash while saving the cached I/O server data to disk during the periodic save functionality.

The crash occurs due to a memory overwrite which can often be seen as a message in the debug.log file:

"I/O Device Unit Cache File -- Ve[rsion]"
 

Solution:
Periodic cache persistence is now obsolete as the data is persisted on an event basis. The functionality has now been disabled by default.

Citect has confirmed this to be a problem in CitectHMI/SCADA versions 5.XX. This problem has been fixed in version 5.50 SpkC.
