This issue comes about due to conflicting
modem settings between what you enter in Citect's Port form and the
settings of the modem on the computer.
To view/change the modem settings in Windows XP go to Control Panel
and choose "Phone and Modem Options". Go to the "Modems" tab and
select the modem that your Citect project uses. Select "Properties"
and navigate to the "Advanced" tab. Click on the "Change Default
Preferences" button and select the "Advanced" tab in the new
window. Either change the modem settings in this window or use the
settings displayed in the Port form of your Citect project.
