Can I use Citect's PSDirect Driver to communicate with an S7300 via an MPI card in my PC?
 

Solution:
No.

The PSDirect driver does not currently support communication via an MPI card in the PC. If you wish to use an MPI card in your PC to talk to Siemens equipment you will need to use Citect's S7NT driver and Siemens Softnet program.

The PSDIRECT MPI driver supports the Siemens RS-232 PC Adapter, which is no longer in production

The MPI Driver however works with the www.vipa.de S7 Clone PLC using the vipa "Green cable" which requires no adapter. The Vipa PLC and the green cable is most cost effective way of connecting a small S7 PLC to CitectSCADA.
