Summary:
Running CitectSCADA 5.50 and all previous versions on Windows NT 4.0 SP6 with the latest UNITE driver causes the error "Driver not initialised" on startup.
Installing CitectSCADA 6.00 resolves the problem. Also, if the operating system is upgraded to Windows 2000 or above, the problem is also resolved. Is there an incompatibility between the Windows NT operating system and the latest UNITE driver?

Solution:
Yes. The latest UNITE driver has a dependency on the file MFC42.DLL. This file is included in Windows 2000 and above. It is also installed by CitectSCADA 6.00.
To resolve this issue in Windows NT 4.0, copy the file MFC42.DLL from another machine which has CitectSCADA 6.00 installed, or download it from the internet.
This file needs to reside in the C:\WINNT\System32 directory.  It is recommended that you use version 6.0.8447.0 as a minimum.
