Summary:
I get a hardware alarm when I run up my project using the SNMPII driver saying it failed to register SNMP traps (0x182). 
 

Solution:
You will need to install and run the SNMP trap handler service in Windows.

To do this in Windows XP:

1. Install the SNMP trap handler: Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Add/Remove Windows Components -> Management and Monitoring Tools

Click the checkbox next to that and click on details, make sure SNMP support is installed.

2. Start/Restart the SNMP Trap service: Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> SNMP Trap Service (Right Click and choose start or restart)

3. Restart Citect Runtime.
