Summary:
CitectSCADA Web client fails to start after windows update KB912945 has been installed. This fix is installed as part of MS06-013: Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer (KB912812). After installing this update, the CitectSCADA web client will not start up. The client control is downloaded correctly, but instead of starting up, it displays the error message:

“Starting Citect Web Client Failed: one or more properties (<PARAM> tags) are invalid.”
 

Solution:
Navigate to the Control Panel à Add/Remove Programs and Remove the Webclient on the Server.  Restart your PC and Reinstall the Webclient for CitectSCADA version 6.10. Apply Service Pack A if running same service pack on the CitectSCADA Server.
