Summary:
After upgrading my project to CitectSCADA V6 or V6.1, I get the error "Protocol '' configured in board 'BOARD1' does not exist" on start up. This error did not appear in CitectSCADA Versions prior to CitectSCADA V6. In my BOARD1 definition the Board type is blank.

Solution:
In CitectSCADA V6 and V6.1, Citect stipulates for all protocols that the board type can't be blank. However with some protocols, it is specified that the Board type should be blank in some cases. This is no longer the case. Selecting *any* of the protocols in the Board type drop down box (e.g. ABCLX) will get rid of the error.

DDEDRV is an example of a driver, that according to the help, does not require any board type. To fix the problem with DDEDRV you can just type in DDEDRV under the board type.
