Summary:
When trying to convert a gradient filled graphic object to a bitmap the object loses its internal colour fill. 
 

Solution:
This is a problem with the type of internal resource used by CitectSCADA to store the resulting bitmap. The workaround is to copy the object and then paste it back using the Graphics Editor->Paste Special... Menu and select the paste as ‘Device Independent Bitmap’ as per the screen shot below.
