Summary:
Does CitectSCADA support OPC AE (Alarms and Events)?

CitectSCADA is an OPC DA 2.0 server since v6.1 and prior to that was an OPC DA 1.0a server. Citect supports OPC DA 1.0a and 2.0 as a client via the OPC driver.
We do not have built in support for OPC AE.

 

Solution:

It is possible with some third party products, to engineer support for OPC AE into Citect. For example there are software tools that are OPC AE clients and place the events that they recieve into a database or file. Citect can then collect the information from the database or file and add it to our system via the AlarmNotifyVarChange() cicode function.
