Summary:

I am starting up Citect on my machine and I am getting the following error message: "Cannot Display Startup Page <Page_Name>". I have run up my web client and have seen the same error. I have checked my project files for this page and it is not listed as a startup page or doesn't exist in my project. What is going wrong?

Solution:

You will need to check for the following:

On Citect Server/Client:
1. Before starting runtime, ensure that you perform a Pack and Compile (with Incremental Compile turned off). In some cases you may have to pack and compile twice.

On Citect Web Client:
1. Ensure that Fast Update Pages is unchecked in the Graphics Builder (see Tools>Options), and perform a Update Pages on your Server before doing a pack, and full compile.
2. Perform the Web Deployment Preparation.
3. When you create your deployment on the web server, make sure that the CAB file selected is the correct version for the web client you are running.
4. Ensure that the CAB file installed on the web client is the correct version. If you have upgraded your Citect system onsite you will need to remove the older CAB file before running the newer version web client and subsequently installing the newer CAB file. The CAB file can be uninstalled from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

On Citect IDC - Internet Display Client:
1. As above, ensure that Fast Update Pages is unchecked in the Graphics Builder (see Tools>Options), and perform a Update Pages on your Server before doing a pack, and full compile.
2. Ensure that the same Version & Service Packs are installed on both Citect Server and IDC Clients, as per KB Q4520
3. On the Citect Server Machine, delete the StartupZip.Zip file in the USER directory to remove any outdated references.
    - This file will be recreated when an IDC client connects to the Citect Server.
    - This should only need to be done once after an upgrade to remove any previous Citect version files.

There is a server-side hotfix available by request that may resolve this issue in some cases, please contact Citect Support for more details. Note: This hotfix may not have been tested for your configuration.
