Summary:
While installing CitectSCADA or Vijeo Citect I get the following error:

    "An error occurred during the installation of assembly component"

Solution:

This error is caused by an exisiting .NET Framework installation conflicting with the version being installed by CitectSCADA or Vijeo Citect.

Uninstall the existing .NET framework (Version 2.0) and let the CitectSCADA or Vijeo Citect installation re-install it.
