Summary:

I am using a trap viewer to test trap forwarding but I don't seem to receive them / the port is blocked.

'Error binding to Trap Port (162), it may already be in use.'  

 

Solution:

Citect automatically starts the SNMP Trap Service required to handle unsolicited traps during runtime. Citect Runtime will grab port 162 and in this instance should be closed so that traps can be in the 3rd party software.

The Trap service can be stopped or started in the Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and Services. Please ensure the trap service is running when fault finding trap issues.
