How do I configure the Mitsubishi FX3U to communicate to Citect over Ethernet using MELSCNET driver?  

Solution:

The following screenshot show how to configure Citect's communications forms. However, there are settings in the FX3U Development Environment which is important to establish communications with Citect:

Board Name: Board1
Board Type: TCPIP
Address: 0

Port Name: Port1_Board1
Board Name: Board1
Special Opt: -i10.176.233.217 -P1025 -T (IP address of the PLC)

IODevice Name: IODeviceName
Address: 255
Protocol: MELSCNET1
PortName: Port1_Board1

XXXX Required Hardware:
RS232 Cross Over Cable.

XXXX Hardware used during setup:
Mitsubishi FX3u-16M PLC
Mitsubishi FX3u-ENET Ethernet module.

Steps:

  • Configure the PLC using the FX-Configurator. (Screen shots given below)
  • Configure the Citect SCADA.
    • In the IO Device section set:
      • Protocol = MELSCNET1
      • Address = 255. (XXXX OTHER ADDR CAN BE CONFIG)
    • Set the IP Address in Special Opt section (eg -I10.176.233.217 -P1025 -T) 

FX Configurator-EN settings:
Module no = 0

XXXX OTHER SETTINGS MAY WORK
