Summary:
I have just upgraded my project from v6.1 to v7.0, and experience a crash whenever, in my runtime, I try to display a page which contains a symbol with a long name.

What is the maximum allowed number of characters for a symbol and a library name?

 

Solution:
When you create a symbol, you are restricted to a max of 32 characters. This is obviously the limit.

When you create a new library, you are not restricted to a specific number of characters. However, you need to specify less than 31 characters, as giving the library a longer name will result in a runtime crash.

 

This problem is currently under investigation by Citect. Further information will be posted when available
