Summary:
Citect SCADA will incorrectly display symbol set properties such as the ON or OFF symbol when using symbols from a library with a full stop in the name e.g library.new 

Solution:

Full stops are currently not supported in library names (Genie, Template & Symbols)

Library names should only be alpha numeric characters.
