Summary:
The Computer setup wizard only allows me to select either the Display client or Manager client option even though my local IP address is configured as a Citect Server.

How does Citect determine the IP address?

 

Solution:

It is possible that the LMHost.sam file has been modified with a different IP address linked to the current machine (computer name).
The LMhost.sam file basically contains mappings of IP addresses to computer names and takes precedence over IP addresses which are either assigned through DHCP or configured manually for the NIC

The entries in this file would look something like:

172.20.16.228 myserver1
172.20.16.229 myserver2

If these entries are not required you can either delete or modify them, which should allow Citect to use the IP address correctly

Citect does not have its own mechanism to determine the IP Address. This is being taken care of by the operating system and to be considered as transparent for Citect
 The LMHost.sam file can be found in the following directory:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
