Summary:

Somebody with access rights to Area number 5 opens a page with Security area 5. If he now Logs off, it's not possible to press any button to Log in again or change the page. The Page uses the Standard XP Style. The user has no choice but to shutdown Citect.

What is the reason for this behaviour?

Solution:

The problem originates from the fact that by default all objects (including the navigation buttons of the Xp-Style templates) on a page will be given the same Area number as the page itself. So if a page is set to Area number 5, and the current user logs out, no object will be usable as they all belong to Area5 and therefore not accessible by default.

An easy work around is to display the "Home" page (i.e. a page set to belong to "all Areas") as soon as a user logs out. This will ensure that the "default user" will be brought back to a page which he can navigate and that he will be able to use the XP-style navigation buttons.

This can be achieved by calling the PageDisplay function in the "Exit command" of the users form.
