Summary:

Running through the communications setup wizard to create diskdrv devices will truncate the filename used if the device name is more than 8 characters. This will cause difficulties if multiple diskdrv devices have a filename which share the first 8 characters, and were created using this wizard. This is because in runtime changing tag values of one of these devices can inadvertently change unrelated tags of the other device.

Solution:

If you are creating diskdrv devices with using the wizard, and have an I/O device name longer than 8 characters, please double check the address field in the I/O devices form after running through the wizard (see Communications>I/O Devices in the Project Editor window). The address field should provide the full path and filename of the diskdrv device, here the filename can be edited to longer than 8 characters.
