Summary:
When using the Unity Speedlink tool to import tags from OFS into Vijeo Citect, you may find that you have too many tags being created in your variable tag database. The tags of concern are the "Specific" tags which are internal OPC tags that may exist for each OFS device. These tags also can cause the import to fail. This issue also applies in normal Vijeo Citect "Tools->Import Tags" import using OFS.

Update: Another user reports that this solution is also useful when the following error occurs upon an import: "the file (chosen as the file containing the tags to link) was unavailable or in use by another application."

Solution:
The additional tags being imported are the "Specific Items" defined within the OFS Server.  These tags cause problems in versions prior to v7.10. To disable these "Specific Items" from being imported into the Variable Tag Database:

1.)  Open the OFS Configuration Tool
2.)  Navigate to the OFS Server Settings / Communications Settings
3.)  Uncheck the box in the Settings for Specific Items "Enable OPC Extensions

Now when you import the tags, the specific items will not get imported.
From v7.10, these items are filtered out during the import process.

These items are "specific tags" :
