Summary:

I am trying to set up the database exchange object to access a dbf file. I want to use a connection string, so I don't have to set up a DSN on every machine. It won't let me use a file name longer than 8 characters. What can we do?

Solution:

The length of filename is restricted by the MS Jet DB driver, so you can't get around it for dbf files.
