Summary: |
When starting the Time
Synchronization Configuration application (TimeSyncConfig.exe) the
user may be presented with a "Microsoft .NET Framework" window
displaying the following error message: "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))" |
Solution: |
This can occur due to a
problem with the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)
configuration. To overcome this, you need to run the WMIDiag script
provided by Microsoft via the link below: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=d7ba3cd6-18d1-4d05-b11e-4c64192ae97d&displaylang=en This script will suggest changes that need to be made to return the machines configuration to a more "standard" set. One specific situation that has caused this bug was having the "Default Impersonation Level:" set to "Anonymous" rather than "Identify". |
