I am unable to add new rows to my
excel DSN workbook using the Database Exchange
Control? |
Solution: |
We advise to use an Excel workbook as a
DSN only to update and remove rows, not
to add rows. Excel reads the request to add in a new row as 'replace rows where field is blank, with this new row". As there are many blank rows, you will see replicated rows in your workbook. You will see the following errors: 1. Row cannot be located for updating. Some values may have been changed since it was last read. 2. Key column information is insufficient or incorrect. To many rows were affected by update. If you want to add new rows to your Data Source, use an Access Database rather than an Excel workbook. You will be able to add, remove and edit rows ok. |
