Summary: |
IDC client returns the following error at
startup: 'FTP server at <Citect server IP address> not
found'. On the Citect server machine, a hardware alarm regarding
FTP server is displayed at startup. It seems that the FTP server does not start with Citect: - FTP dialog window does not open when Citect starts - FTPsvr.exe is not listed in the Windows Task Manager - Telnet command to open port 21 (Telnet <IP address of Citect server> 21) returns: 220-Microsoft FTP server |
Solution: |
On some Operating Systems (Windows 2000,
Windows Server 2003), Windows FTP server is configured to
automatically load at startup. This prevents Citect FTP
server to start correctly, as only one FTP server can be
loaded on a computer at a time. Turning off the automatic start of the Windows FTP server should solve the issue. This can be modified in the Windows service configuration window: Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services |
