10.5.4.1        Convert to Polygon – Text

Text, Outline Text and Fill Text can all be converted to Polygon(s).  Reasons to apply Convert to Polygon to Text include:

·         Rotate Text using the Edit -> Rotate or TrackRotate commands.

·         Stretch or Compress the Text using the TrackNS, TrackNWSE, TRACKNESW or TrackWE commands.

·         Reshape individual Line segments using Control Points (TrackModify) to stretch the Text.

To Convert Text to Polygon - DRAW

Users can first select the object then select Convert to Text from the Edit Menu or vice versa.

1.      Select the Text Object

2.      The Text object should be outlined with a box.

3.      Right Click the mouse.

4.      Select Edit -> Convert to Polygon

To Convert Text to Polygon - DrawDAQ

Users can first select the object then select Convert to Text from the Edit Menu or vice versa.

1.      Select the Text Object

2.      The Text object should be outlined with a box.

3.      Right Click the Mouse

4.       Select Convert to Polygon

Convert to Polygon – Circle, Arc and Pie

Circles, Arcs and Pies converted to Polygon produce the following:

·         Ellipsoids and Shark Fins.

·         Reshape individual Line Segments Line segments using Control Points (TrackModify) to produce other shapes.

Convert to Polygon – Rectangle

Rectangles  converted to Polygon produce the following:

·         Polyhedrons.

·         Reshape individual Line Segments Line segments using Control Points (TrackModify) to produce other shapes.
