Keymapping

Function Keys on Keyboards and Panels can be assigned a custom keymacro command by an engineer or technician (see 11.4 in the Engineering Manual).   The keymacro can call another KeyMacro file or Script a subset of all keymacro command functions. A  user pressing one of the 'mapped keys' will execute the assigned Keymacro (for example, pop-up a Help file or execute a shutdown procedure or call a commonly used graphic display).

The F1 through F10 function keys on Windows standard Keyboards along with the Control-key (Ctrl), Shift-key (Shift) and Alternate-key (Alt) in combination with Alphabetic keys can be used to execute keymacro commands.  The keys that can be mapped to a KeyMacro commands are

 <TAB>,<S_TAB>, <LS>,<RS>, <S_LS>, <S_RS>, <CTL_LS>, <CTL_RS>, <UP>, <DN>, <S_UP>, <S_DN>, <HOME>, <END>, <CR>, <ESC>, <F1> to <F10>, <S_F1> to <S_F10>,<ALT_F1> to <ALT_F10>, <ALT_A> to <ALT_Z>, <ALT_1> to <ALT_9>, <ALT_0>, <CTL_F1> to <CTL_F10>, <CTL_A> to <CTL_Z>, <F1>.

Windows and Internet Explorer Function Keys

Some of the keys are reserved for the IE 6.0 Web Browser and Windows

F11 Maximizes the web browser. Pressing F11 a second time restores the Web Browser to previous size for me. WebAccess does not control the F11 key.  You need to change the focus to the web browser by clicking on the blue Title bar or inside the browser window, then clicking F11, to restore or maximize the web browser.

ALT TAB changes between tasks (i.e. programs) in Windows. An engineer or technician can disable this in ViewDAQ and VIEW .

Control-ALT-Delete (i.e. the Task Manager) is used by Windows to control to log off, shutdown, restart, etc.  This  can also be removed (Task Manager button is grayed-out) by an engineer or technician disable this in ViewDAQ and VIEW).

Start button an also be disabled by an engineer or technician disable this in ViewDAQ and VIEW.
