8.7.1   Web Browser Client and Windows Security

Before a user can Login to WebAccess using a web browser, the user must first pass through Windows security of the Project nodes IIS (Internet Information Server).  WebAccess works with all the security features associated with the web including, Anonymous Access and Authenticated Access (i.e. Usernames and Passwords), Certificates, Secure Sockets Layer, VPN and firewalls.

Your system may allow Anonymous Logon for the Web Browser in which case there are no additional passwords you need to connect using a web browser.

The engineers and technicians may have set your systems web server to require Authentication, a Virtual Private Network or other features requiring you to use additional password or security.

WebAccess User types restrict access to the Project Manager, Graphics and Tags. User types restrict access to displays through a Web Browser, not to ViewDAQ. Area and Level security applies to all users.
