Configuring Sessions

By default, if a browser session is inactive for more than 20 minutes, the session times out and the Proficy Portal server disconnects the browser to prevent the remote computer from monopolizing the connection when no one is using it.

If you find the default session timeout is too long or too short, you can modify it by selecting the Sessions folder in the Administration application tree. When you select this folder, the following fields appear:

Current session timeout

Displays the current session timeout value, in minutes. This field cannot be edited.

Number of Reserved Sessions Available

Displays the current number of reserved sessions. This field cannot be edited.

Number of Sessions Allowed

Displays the number of remaining sessions. This value will change, depending on how many clients are connected to the Proficy Portal server. This field cannot be edited.

Proposed Number of Sessions to Reserve

Specifies the number of available sessions to reserve for specific Proficy Portal users.

Proposed Session Timeout

Specifies the browser session timeout (in minutes) for the Proficy Portal server. When the timeout session expires, the Proficy Portal server disconnects the browser automatically.   To resume the session, the client must log in again. You can enter a session timeout from 10 minutes to Never Timeout.

Total Number of Sessions Available

Displays the remaining sessions available. This field cannot be edited.
