You can embed a Proficy Portal display in an iFIX picture using the Proficy Portal ActiveX control. To use this control in iFIX, you must supply the following:
Server name or IP address of the Proficy Portal server.
Proficy Portal server virtual directory name (the default name is ProficyPortal).
User name, along with domain name if one is required (format: domain\user).
Password (if necessary).
This information is entered in the iFIX ProficyPortalControl Control Properties dialog box. After entering the server/security information, you can choose a display from a list to embed in your picture.

NOTES:
In run mode, iFIX supports only one open picture with a Proficy Portal control in it.
The user name and password are sent over the network in a simple encoded format. This is not considered secure and therefore it is recommended that this user's access is limited.
