SPC Charts: General Tab

The General tab allows you configure the name and appearance of the chart. The General Tab is the same regardless of the type of chart that you insert.

Values

Chart Name

The file name of the chart.

Any ASCII printable character.

Modifiable

Whether users can change the chart's configuration at run time.

Selected – allows changes. (default)

Cleared – prevents changes.

Antialiasing

Indicates whether to smooth the text in a chart by dithering specific pixels around the edge of a type face to reduce jagged text.

Selected – allows dithering. (default)

Cleared – prevents dithering.

Title Text

The title that appears in the title bar of the chart.

Any ASCII printable character.

Orientation

The placement and justification of the title in a chart.

Top - Left Justified

Top - Center Justified

Top - Right Justified

Bottom - Left Justified

Bottom - Center Justified

Bottom - Right Justified

Show Title

Indicates whether to display the chart's title.

Selected – title is visible.

Cleared – title is hidden.

Text Color
button

The color of a chart's title text.

Select any color from the color palette.

Chart Color
button

The background color of a chart (if Background Mode is Solid Color).

Select any color from the color palette.

Start Gradient
button

The starting color of the chart's gradient fill (if Background Mode is Gradient Paint).

Select any color from the color palette.

End Gradient
button

The ending color of the chart's gradient fill (if Background Mode is Gradient Paint).

Select any color from the color palette.

Select Image
button

An image for the chart's background (if Background Mode is Image).

Any GIF, JPEG, or PNG image in the infoAgent server's graphics directory (xxx by default).

Images smaller or larger than the chart are scaled to fit within the object.

Plot Color
button

The background color of a chart's plotting area, where trends are displayed (if Plot Transparent is cleared).

Select any color from the color palette.

Plot Border
button

The border color of the chart's plotting area (if Show Plot Border is selected).

Select any color from the color palette.

Background
Mode

The type of background of the chart.

Solid Color – a solid color for the chart's background. The Chart Color button determines the color used.

Gradient Paint – a gradient fill for the chart's background. The Start Gradient and End Gradient buttons determine the colors used. The Gradient Direction field controls the direction of the gradient.

Image – the chart's background displays an image. The Select Image button determines the image to use.

Transparent – the chart's background is transparent.

Gradient
Direction

The direction of the gradient (when Background Mode is Gradient).

Horizontal – a horizontal gradient.

Vertical – a vertical gradient.

Diagonal \ – a diagonal gradient starting in the top left corner of the chart.

Diagonal / – a diagonal gradient starting in the top right corner of the chart.

Plot
Transparent

Indicates whether the chart's plotting area is transparent.

Selected – the plotting area's color matches the color of the chart's background.

Cleared – the chart uses a different color for the plotting area. Select a color with the Plot Color button.

Show Plot
Border

Indicates whether the plotting area border is visible.

Selected – border visible.

Cleared – border hidden.

Sample

Displays a sample of the chart with the selected colors/image.

Control Lines

Allows you to set the color, line width, and line style for control lines.

NOTE: This property is not available for bar-type charts (e.g. Pareto, Histogram).

Color – select any color from the color palette.

Line Width – 1 to 4; 4 is the widest.

Line Style – Solid, Dash Dash, Dot Dot, Dash Dot, or Dash Dot Dot.

Display Line – selected to show the line; cleared to hide the line.

Central Line

Allows you to set the color, line width, and line style for the central line.

NOTE: This property is not available for bar-type charts (e.g. Pareto, Histogram).

Color – select any color from the color palette.

Line Width – 1 to 4; 4 is the widest.

Line Style – Solid, Dash Dash, Dot Dot, Dash Dot, or Dash Dot Dot.

Display Line – selected to show the line; cleared to hide the line.

Warning
Line 1

Allows you to set the color, line width, and line style for the first warning line.

NOTE: This property is not available for bar-type charts (e.g. Pareto, Histogram).

Color – select any color from the color palette.

Line Width – 1 to 4; 4 is the widest.

Line Style – Solid, Dash Dash, Dot Dot, Dash Dot, or Dash Dot Dot.

Display Line – selected to show the line; cleared to hide the line.

Warning
Line 2

Allows you to set the color, line width, and line style for the second warning line.

NOTE: This property is not available for bar-type charts (e.g. Pareto, Histogram).

Color – select any color from the color palette.
