How
are fail-safe programs supported by S7-PLCSIM and SIMATIC PCS 7
V6?
ANSWER:
The
installation CD of SIMATIC PCS 7 V6 also includes S7-PLCSIM version
V5.2. This version of S7-PLCSIM supports F projects directly. This
means that if you have installed S7-PLCSIM V5.2, you no longer have
to replace the function blocks of your project with simulation
blocks in Simulation mode. In S7-PLCSIM V5.2 the "Simulation"
button is no longer displayed in the dialog field "Edit fail-safe
program".
Note:
There
are still certain restrictions for the use of S7-PLCSIM
V5.2:

The communication
between CPUs is no longer supported.

|
S7-PLCSIM cannot
reinitialize the fail-safe program after restart of the "F_SHUTDN"
function block. In this case the user has to restart
S7-PLCSIM.

|
In order to be
able to load the fail-safe program in S7-PLCSIM V5.2 the user must
first load the hardware and then the fail-safe program.

S7-PLCSIM uses an
unchangeable password for the CPU:
plcsim (lowercase
letters). |
