Solution 1. Set up the OPC Client

Distributed COM must be enabled on a node for it to operate as an OPC Client.

The location to enable distributed COM depends on the OPC Client operating system.

  1. Open the My Computer Properties dialog box on the Windows XP\2003 Client node as follows.

  1. Click Start on the Windows task bar.

  2. Select Run on the Start menu.

The Run dialog box opens.

  1. Type dcomcnfg in the Open field.

  1. Double-click Component Services in the Component Services left pane.

Component Services expands.

  1. Double-click Computers.

  2. Right-click My Computer.

The My Computer Properties dialog box opens.

  1. Select Properties on the Popup menu.

  2. Select the Default Properties tab.

  3. Select the following.
