If you select relative to the element, first you define a reference point for your template similar to relative to the mouse pointer. Then you define the favored position at the element. The following settings are available:

Alternative position
Define an alternative position for the reference point of the template and the reference point at the element. Proceed with the definition of the alternative positions in the same way as with the definition of the favored positions. The alternative position is used when the template can not be placed at the favored position.
