The control system allows you to record values of variables from different projects of one workspace in one archive. The values recorded in this way can then be filtered, they can be displayed in list or trend form, and they can be printed or exported just like data from normal archives.

Now the variable selection dialog opens.

Here you not only can select variables from the I-PRO, but in the left area you also can select other projects. You will then get the variable list of the according project and can select variables from it.

As the I-PRO is a client to the servers PRO1 and PRO2, this will work without any problems in the Runtime.

attention Attention

The control system does not care, whether the network structure in the Runtime really allows access to the selected project and its variables!

In the Editor you can e.g. select variables from the I-PRO and the project PRO2 for an archive of the project PRO1. But this will not work in the Runtime!

When you close the variable selection with OK, the following message box opens and tells you, that in redundant systems a complete recording is not guaranteed in some cases.

attention Attention

In this case it is not sufficient that the I-PRO is redundant. In this structure the I-PRO is only a client to the servers PRO1 and PRO2. So it only gets its data from the two server projects. If one of the two servers fails, the I-PRO does not get the according data. So in the archives you would only get alternate values!

If however the two projects PRO1 and PRO2 are redundant, you always will have complete archives.

In the variable list of the archive the project name is written in front of the variable name.
