Summary:
I have remapped a PLC INTEGER to Citect variable DIGITALs.  When I remap I specify a length of 16 but I only want to use four bits in my project.  How does this effect the point count for my licence.

Solution:
The guide is that you will only pay for what you use not for what you define.  You may have remapped all 16 bits but for example defined only 6 of the bits as Citect DIGITAL variable tags.  You may then decide to only use four of these in the project eg in page objects or in your reports, alarms, events, cicode etc.  In this case only four points are added towards the total static point count.  For further information on how point counts are calculated please refer to articles Q1385 & Q2271.

Please note that you cannot remap disk or memory IO Device tags and you cannot remap variables in some PLCs an Citect drivers.  Disk and memory tags do not affect your point count.
