Summary:
I am preparing to install a driver pack. How do I roll back to the old driver if something goes wrong?

Solution:
The preferred way to roll back to an older driver version is to use the driver pack for that version. In this case, rolling back simply involves installing the older driver pack.

Driver packs can be obtained from the Driver Web section of the Citect web site. The Driver Web will also show which driver version was shipped with each release of CitectSCADA.

If this is not possible the following procedure can be followed:

1. Before you start note the location CitectSCADA was installed to. This would usually be C:\Program Files\Citect\CitectSCADA or similar.
2. When you run the driver pack installer the 'Start Copying Files' dialog details all the files the driver pack will install. Note all files and what type of operation will occur to them.

3. The driver pack will create a folder called DrvBack in the CitectSCADA installation directory. Backups of all the effected files will be moved into this directory.
4. To roll back the driver pack shutdown CitectSCADA (design & runtime) and copy the effect files back from the DrvBack to the Bin directory.
5. Restart CitectSCADA and verify correct operation.

More information on driver packs can be found in article Q2617 - About Citect Driver Packs
