This option is used on a PC that is only a SCADA node. If there is more than one SCADA node in a project, the user should use this option for the additional SCADA nodes. If the project node is not also a SCADA node, then all the SCADA nodes are installed using this option.
The SCADA node is a PC that communicates
to the PLCs, Controllers, IO or automation devices. The SCADA
node only needs 2000 Professional or Server, Server 2003, XP
Professional, Vista Business or Vista Ultimate. SCADA node
also needs a TCP/IP connection to the Project Node and WebAccess
SCADA node software. The SCADA node is usually not a web
server (although optionally you can install IIS web server on a
SCADA node to allow clients to connect directly, see section 16.1.3.2 BwView.htm - connect
without a Project Node in the Engineering Manual for more
information). There can be many SCADA nodes in a
Project all connecting to One Project Node for updates to the SCADA
node Database.
Note - XP Home
cannot be a SCADA node.
Please refer to section 1.4.2 SCADA Nodes - System Requirements for more information.
Installation Option 3 will Install
only the SCADA node software. SCADA nodes do not
need the Project Node software installed on the same
PC. Install Option 3 will install SCADA Node Software,
Communications Drivers, the OPC Service, and ViewDAQ. The
Hardkey and Software License Control File are required for the
SCADA node part of this combined node.
Note 1 - option 3 (Install SCADA Node) will convert an existing Project Node or combined Project/SCADA node to be a SCADA Node Only.
A Hardkey and License file is required for the SCADA software node to run in communication mode and read live data from automation devices. You can use the SCADA node without a Hardkey in Simulation Mode using either a purchased software license or the demo license file. The demo license file is limited to 32 tags.
Note 2 - All USB Sentinel SuperPro hard keys must be removed before installing software. See USB Hardkey section for more information.
To install WebAccess SCADA node software:
1.
Insert the WebAccess CD into your CD-ROM drive.
The installation program automatically starts up if autorun is
enabled on the PC. If the Install program does not start
automatically, open explore, browse to the CD and double click on
setup.exe
2.
You will see the Welcome to the Installation CD html
page.
3. Select - Install Project and SCADA Node (even though we are installing only SCADA node software).
(Optionally, download and run the WebAccessUSANode.exe from the FTP site).
4. The Install Shield Program starts.
5. A Welcome to Install Shield screen is displayed.
To continue, click Next.
6.
The WebAccess License Agreement displays. Please carefully
read the License Agreement. Clicking No will end Setup. To accept
the License Agreement and
to continue with Setup, click
Yes.
7.
Enter your Customer Information (user name and company).
To continue, click Next.
8.
Select Options to install. Select SCADA node.
This assumes you want a single PC to have SCADA node software without Project Node software. This will convert a combined Project/SCADA node or a Project to SCADA node only.
9.
Destination - Folder where setup will install WebAccess
SCADA Node program files. To continue, click Yes.
Note - It is
recommended to accept the default directory
(drive:\WebAccess\Node) unless you are very experienced user
and have a good reason. If you are changing the default location,
type the entire path (DO NOT ENTER ONLY A DRIVE LETTER).
10. Enter a Remote
Access Code. This is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. It will
prevent unauthorized users from hijacking your Project Node (Web
Server) or SCADA node. 32 characters maximum. You can
only modify this Remote Access Code using the installation
program.
11. Primary TCP Port - If data must pass
through a Fire Wall, enter the Firewall TCP/IP Primary
Port (i.e. firewall port).
Note - 0 = the default port number (4592)
This must match the Primary TCP Port used during installation of the Project Node. If you are not using a firewall, accept the default (0).
To continue, click Next.
12. Secondary TCP Port - If data must pass
through a firewall, enter the Firewall TCP/IP Secondary
Port. WebAccess needs two ports through a firewall; they cannot
be the same port number.
Note - 0 = the
default port number (14592)
If you are
not using a firewall, accept the default (0).
To continue, click Next.
13. Confirm the WWWRoot directory to Install ASP files - This is Optional. This the directory used by IIS (Internet Information Server) Web Server to allow direct connection to the SCADA node without using the Project Node. WebAccess creates a subdirectory (\broadweb) and installs the ASP Files that are served by the Web Server to allow VIEW clients to connec to the SCADA node without using a Project Node. See 2.1.1 IIS required on Project Node for more information.
14. Install Control File - Check the box to install Software License Control File. If you are updating an existing WebAccess node, leave this box un-checked to use your previously installed license file. If you do not have a license and want to use the demo license (limited to 32 tags) leave this box un-checked.
If you have your license file on CD or the email with the bwkserv.exe file, check the box. To continue, click Next.
Note - you can install the license file later by copying bwkserv.exe to drive:\WebAccess\Node
15. WebAccess Node Setup will install files to the directories above.
16. WebAccess Node Setup will adjust security for WebAccess files.
17. Node Setup will install speech components.
18. Node Setup will install hardkey drivers (remove any USB Hardkeys before this).
19. Install Wizard
Complete
Select Yes, I want to restart my computer now.
To continue, select Finish.
20. Install Hardkey on SCADA node after reboot.
Avoid Electrostatic discharge when installing key.
Note - All USB Sentinel SuperPro hard keys must be removed before installing software. See USB Hardkey section for more information.
21. Install Control File - The demo control file is installed by the installation program. You must manually copy the License file (bwkserv.exe) to drive:\WebAccess\Node (typically, C:\WebAccess\Node).
After reboot, you should see the WebAccess Icon in the taskbar next to the system clock.
If you hold the mouse over on the WebAccess Icon in the taskbar, you should see the version number of the software.
Install SCADA Node software also installs ViewDAQ, Start Kernel and Stop Kernel. By right clicking the WebAccess Icon in the taskbar next to the system clock, you should see Start Kernel and Stop Kernel. These will be grayed out until you download a project.
