To configure bad data options

NOTE: For VisualSPC data sources, these options are not available - bad data filtering is set automatically and cannot be changed.

  1. If you have not already done so, insert a chart by selecting it from the Insert menu, or double-click an existing chart to access the chart's configuration panel.

  2. Select the Data tab.

  3. To set a filter on the quality column (used with Quality applications that supply a quality column), select the column from the Bad Data Column list box, select an operator (e.g., =, >), and enter the value for the filter. The default value is 1.

  4. To set a filter on a raw data value, select an operator from the Data Column Value list box, and enter the value to filter by. For example, if you want to mark all samples that are less than -50 and select < as the operator, enter -50 in the value box.

  5. From the Bad Data Rule list box, select the filtering option to be used on the bad data. For example, if you want to exclude all samples that match the filtering criteria, select the `Exclude Sample' bad data rule.

  6. NOTE: For attribute charts, `Exclude Sample' is the only available bad data rule.

When you run the chart, the bad data is filtered accordingly.
