NOTE: Alarm Rules 1, 4, 6, and 7 can be used for all charts that support alarms; alarm rules 2, 3, 5, and 8 can be used for XBar, XBar-R, XBar-S, Moving XBar, and Individual (Run) charts only.
If you have not already done so, insert a chart by selecting it from the Insert menu, or double-click an existing chart to access the chart's configuration panel.
Select the Alarm Tests tab.
To enable alarm tests, select the Enable check box.
In the Tests section select any or all check boxes beside the alarm tests you want to set. All alarm tests except number 1 require you to enter values that allow you to customize the alarm tests for the specific data ranges.
NOTE: For alarm tests 2 and 3, the second value must be equal to or greater than the first value. If you enter these values incorrectly they will appear in red. If the incorrect values are used when the chart is run, the last known good values are used by the chart instead.
In the Style section, click the Marker Color button to select a different color for the alarm test markers.
In the Marker Style list box, select a type of marker to use. This marker appears on all out-of-control subgroups. If you want the marker filled with the selected color, select the Fill check box.
