Option 4.2.7.1.1. Historian Server and CIMPLICITY Server Installed on Separate Nodes

Important: Perform the following installation steps in the order presented below.

  1. On the Historian server node install:

  1. Historian (version 2.0 or greater).

Note: Run the Historian installation program and select the components to install, including Historian Server and Administrator. Do not install Historian Client tools, as these will be installed from the CIMPLICITY Service Pack in step 2B.

  1. All required Historian SIMs (service packs).

  1. On the CIMPLICITY Server node install:

  1. CIMPLICITY Server.

If necessary, reboot the CIMPLICITY server.

  1. Any required CIMPLICITY Service Packs.

If necessary, reboot the CIMPLICITY server.

Note: During the installation process you will be prompted to enter the name of the primary Historian server. Enter the name of the Historian server node; i.e. the name of the computer (step 1) as it appears when browsing your network neighborhood.

  1. Historian Collector if you are collecting point data from projects running on this node.

Notes:

Contact your Historian sales representative for details about downloading the Historian Collector from the GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms Web site.

Check the Historian Collector option on the General tab of the CIMPLICITY Project Properties dialog box to configure your projects for data collection.

  1. On any Viewer-only nodes install:

  1. CIMPLICITY Viewer.

Reboot the Viewer node.

  1. Any required CIMPLICITY Service Packs.

Note: During the installation process you will be prompted to enter the name of the primary Historian server. Enter same name you entered in step 2.B. above.

Reboot the Viewer node.

Important: Before you can run a CimView screen on the Viewer node, you must set up a Viewer connection to the Server node.
