Determines whether alarms records are identified by their record number or alarm tag. Normally, each record has a record number and type number that identifies the alarm. If you are using two Alarms servers (each with different Alarms databases) and if you rearrange or delete records, the record and type numbers will differ. In this instance, you can use the alarm tag identifier to identify the alarms.
If you use the alarm tag identifier, all alarm tags must be unique. By identifying alarms with the alarm tag identifier, you use more disk space and larger data packets (for client/server communication), and system performance is reduced.
