Disadvantages of Windows CE

But Windows CE also has some disadvantages. E.g. not the full Windows API (Application Programming Interface) is available. Thus it is unavoidable, that compared to the PC version Windows CE is limited as far as the functionality is concerned. Reading and writing access to the CompactFlash card is slow, the life-time of these storage media is decreased by frequent access. For that reason some modules and functions are not available under Windows CE.
